Yerba Buena Gardens Conservancy Celebration

FREEThe Yerba Buena Gardens Conservancy will mark a New Era on Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 10 am—Noon at the Leroy King Carousel Plaza, next to the Children’s Creativity Museum with a celebration of Yerba Buena Gardens past, present and future.
New Civic Nonprofit to Steward Yerba Buena Gardens
City officials and agencies, community groups, businesses, and nonprofits will mark this new era for YBG at a ceremony celebrating newly installed works of public art, a new children’s Tot Lot and public spaces resulting from the Moscone Expansion project, as well as landscaping upgrades, including new dog spots.
Details will be provided about the launch of the new community-based nonprofit Yerba Buena Gardens Conservancy stewarding the gardens and the benefits of its formation. Speakers will also address the site’s remarkable transformation from parking lots to a model redevelopment.
Yerba Buena Gardens is home to expansive gardens, museums, performance venues, and play areas attracting 5 million visitors annually.
